Deben and Mersea weeks were a great success, with a good turnout of Stella's at both events. There were more Stella's participating in Deben Week than in all previous years, with many coming from the Essex rivers. The week's weather was dominated by high pressure and accompanying north-easterly wind. This made sailing the river more 'fickle' than usual, as the land on the east side is high with trees in places, leading to some unexpected shadowing. This did not seem to affect the performance of Essex boats in any way, much to the chagrin of the home boats. Never the less the competition was good and enjoyable through the whole week, and the Suffolk boats are determined to make their mark next year! (they may even do a bit of practice among themselves!!) The pictures below were supplied by Trevor and
Mary Dodwell who keep Stella #6 ' Persephone' on the Deben at
Ramsholt. Persephone is part owned by brother Roger. |

| The position not long after the start. Rangitira is still leading, but Polaris has moved up into 2nd place, closely followed by Starfox and Stardust. |
