Nina Croad owned Stella Lyra from 1990 to 1996 ish.
She cruised her extensively, often single handed and has some
great stories to tell.
Nina kindly sent some photos to the website which are shown on this page. The picture on the left was taken somewhere in the middle of the English Channel on passage to Alderney and thence on to St Quay Brittany. Although Nina is a member of Lerwick Boating club she does not own any boat at the present time. |

The picture on the right was taken at the Elephant Boat Yard, Bursledon Hants, which at the top end of the River Hamble. Nina worked at this yard from 1988 - 1998 before moving to Shetland.

The picture on the left was taken at London Docks during the annual Elelphant BoatYard Cruise which was to Plymouth that year. |

Nina comments "I did like the Stella as a cruising boat. I did do some cruising with three onboard, though it gets a little cramped, or two but mostly these long voyages were done single handed, though in the company of other yachts. I did do some racing at the Bursledon Regatta but she was always outclassed by more modern yachts." - I can't believe this - ed! |
