| When I first looked for a boat I wanted a plastic sports boat, but found that I didn’t want to spend the money to get what I wanted. I found Vahine II and thought that she would do as a stepping stone to what I did want.
The problem with this theory is that you fall in love with wooden boats as you invest more time and money into them. I won’t be parting with her for a while! |

and will be replaced with a ‘’port a potty’’.

| We took the deck back to the
cloth and filled about 100 holes.

| The hull and topsides had to repainted and a
small amount of wood replaced around one chain
plate. A new transom, just for the look. I have also replaced the chrome hardware with bronze where possible. New self tailing winches, boom, control lines, clutches for halyards,

| I try to do all 7 of the classic regattas in
the Morton Bay area of Brisbane, and since the
addition of a new main we are quite successful
on handicap.
This year has seen an increase in Folk Boats and I'm hoping that the addition of a new headsail will mean that I can catch them up wind! |
